I used to sing this ditty, “I love my baby, Solana Isabelle…my Miyochan, my Sunnychan, my akachan, Solana Isabelle”, to the tune of Cinderella’s, “Whatever You Wish Will Come True”. I had sung this to her over and over again since she was born to make her sleep. Today, she’s 3 1/2 years old and she blurted “yada, yada, yamenasai”, “I don’t want, I don’t want, stop”.
My baby is now a little girl, soon she will be a big girl who might not even want me at her side as she gets more friends. I would love that for her.
I want her to laugh and enjoy the company of best friends she will make in the course of her life, be amazed, explore, learn, be happy and grateful to the One Who makes everything happen.
Children will always be their mothers’ babies, they grow up, yet the hands that held them from their birth wish to hold them forever.
